Copyediting for Nonfiction and Fiction Manuscripts
What Is Copy Editing, and Why Do You Need It?
Copy editing is the process of reviewing and correcting your manuscript to improve accuracy, readability, and overall quality. It’s more than just fixing typos; it’s about making sure your book is consistent, clear, and compelling.
Editing involves:
•Line-by-line review
•Proofreading for grammar and spelling
•Improving flow and readability
•Following the Four Cs of Copy Editing: Clarity, Coherency, Consistency, and Correctness
While self-editing or asking friends for help can be tempting, it often leads to missed errors or unclear sections. A professional editor provides a fresh perspective and ensures your manuscript is the best it can be.

Domenica has been a wonderful teacher and guide
on this journey. I have learned so much during
these past 6 months. She cares so much about her
students, and I felt heard, seen, and safe in her
presence. I have never thought about a writer's
wound before, and the way she structured the
workshops and provided us with feedback was
priceless. I am in so much gratitude for her
guidance and the work she is doing and bringing
into this world, helping writers to find their voice, so
they can help others through their books. Thank
you so much for your big heart, for your endless
compassion, and your kindness. Your work is so
needed.

Unwind Bliss
Before joining the Woo-Woo Writers Workshop (former program title), for 5 years, I had a small inner voice that told me to write a book. But I had no idea where to start or what the process looked like. I didn’t think that I was capable of writing a book with my writing ability. I certainly didn’t believe writing a book was something I could do. But that inner voice kept making noise in the background. Then, I met Domenica, and I knew she would be the one to help me start this journey to authorship. Six months later, I have a full first draft. What!! Me, a writer? This program completely transformed the way I see myself. I went from feeling like an imposter to owning my identity as a writer. With Domenica’s support and the structure and contents of the program, I learned how to quiet my inner critic, stay consistent, and trust that this book is part of my bigger mission and message in the world. If you can hear even the tiniest voice whispering “yes”… that’s your future self calling you forward. Trust it. This program gave me the tools, roadmap, and confidence I needed to finish my first draft, and I know it can do the same for you.
